Welcome to the India EU Council's website – a gate to the exchange of opportunities across the two continents which aim is to establish and support co-operation between Europeans and Indians. Our Council serves as a facilitator of contacts and partnerships in the field of business co-operation, social projects, good governance, education and research, as well as information and media in order to bring closer the two rapidly developing parts of the world: Eastern Europe and India. The European Union of today is represented by 27 countries with almost 500 million people. Ten new member states are situated in Central nad Eastern Europe. They are newly born democracies remaining from the year of 1989 in the process of permanent transition. India cosists of 28 states and 1,1 billion people. In 2007, the Republic is celebrating its 60th anniversary. As the India EU Council, we respect each other’s values, mentality, way of social and business conduct, trying to make the best of our similarities and differences in order to enable successful exchange of ideas and opportunities. We hope that the Council's activities will bridge the gap between the two continents, bring about the better mutual understanding of our nations, as well as result in the establishment and enhancement of professional and private contacts between Europeans and Indians.
